I am trying to learn the meaning of the expression "stock in trade". I decided I'd use it in a few sentences and you could point out my mistakes.
- I don't hate you. Hatred is your stock in trade.
- The stock in trade required for success is persistence.
- Generosity is his family's stock in trade.

If you could add a few more examples of your own, that would be lovely.

Thank you :)

Hi Stifledchortles,
I have somes :
A person's stock in trade is something that they do, say, or use very often or too often. For example:
-Famous people and their private lives are the stock-in-trade of the popular newspapers.
-Greed, anger, mendacity are his stock in trade.
Don't it have a different meaning ? I don't know...
