TOPIC: ISSUE160 - "The most essential quality of an effective leader is the ability to remain consistently committed to particular principles and objectives. Any leader who is quickly and easily influenced by shifts in popular opinion will accomplish little."

Which kinds of qualities are essential to our leader? Persisting or Temporising which shape an effective leader? These are probably an everlasting debate and discussion which always draw our attention. When the discussion comes to this case, in my view both of them are essential and which one is the most pivotal prerequisite to accomplishment are diverse in the various dimensions and aspects in the human society.

First of foremost, in the realm of social, only a leader who stick to his/her belief and faith can helm the human civilization to progress in a proper and ever-improving path. History is laden by this evidence: without the King Martin Luther life-long allegiance and tenacity for pursuing equal and unalienable rights for african american, the liberty and the human rights of most of the black community are still falling and ignored by the world; Without Rousseau, Adam Smith and untold pundits and virtuoso enduring contribution to free out human from feudalism during the Enlightment Age, there was possibly no Revolution of France which render to the initial minting of the present western seminal culture and spirit. Those leaders never compromised their principles to dominant authority, poverty, monetary and even the virulent and lethal menace result in the resplendent achievement of human civilization. In this case, undisputedly perseverance prevails.

Secondly, in the realm of business, the issue should be raised upon on a case by case basis. Generally known that, once there is a risk, there is a chance to make profit--provident businessman should be always vigilant and also flexible to capture the tempo of the market and lead his/her group to stand lucrative, successful and sustainable. However, blindly follow the trend without precise analysis and keep on changing the company blueprint, intention, stratagem and even business model invariably lead to fiasco.

Thirdly, in the realm of academy, is totally different. Insistence and shifting serve as two wings of the eagle to make academic leader hovering beyond their competitors. With understanding the hitherto state-of the-art heated topic of the field, the leader slightly adjust and optimise their research approaches and study protocols seeking to coalesce the cutting edge finding without swerving the main route of research interest. Undoubtedly this is the most effective way to make breakthrough in a particular field.

Last but not least, in the realm of politic, is the most complex one undeniably. Only though listening to the populace’s voice and satisfying the constituency needs, a politician can win the election and accomplish during the tenure. Stubbornness and arbitrariness are strictly frowned upon and it clearly transgresses the rule of political game.

To sum up, although commitment and tenacity are precious as a moral behaviour but shrewd decision has to be make when we realise the original objectives or principle are somewhat, fallacious. Meanwhile, flexibility commonsensibly, is not a guarantee to prosperity. Sticking to the belief but always open-minded to outweighing the pros and cons of the overcoming situation then making apt changing in the right time are the qualities every leader in any field should strive for.

I tired of this almost immediately Joe. Your seeming obsession in using complex vocabulary was not conducive to interesting reading. Please, just tell it as it is without the superfluous vocabulary.
