Hello Kati,

In spite of what you may read on that screen, you do not need to keep posting your interpretations of the question-- it makes extra work for us (we have to check each post). Please just post when you are unsure, when you have a question about a grammar point that you do not understand.

Thanks,

MM

Hello Mr. Micawber,

What you ask me, this isn't a simple thing. Why? Because when I finished the test after I would like to read your explanation. But it appears a blank and till I can't fill in I can't watch this page. I am sitting there in front of the blank and after filling in the road becomes free to this page.

I would ask you wrote this letter to everybody who is a discussant ? Or only for me? I know I commited some typos, but what is still the problem? I ask you to answer my question sincerly.

Otherwise it was a good exercise for us. And if you correct our mistakes everybody learns from it. I think you should syncretize not with me but with the person who thought this is a good exercise for students.

Regard:
Kati Svaby

All I can say is that you are the first and only member who has ever contributed such posts, to my knowledge. The forum is for those who have questions about the quiz, so the only posts we see are those which require explanations, not posts giving explanations.

I don't see the need to come to the forum page after you answer each quiz question. What is your goal in doing so? If you wish to continue your practice, I for one am happy to have you do so, but I will not be taking the time to read them, since they almost always require no response.

Hello Mr. Micawber,

I am compelled to answer you.

I am sorry to read that: " I don't see the need to come to the forum page after you answer each quiz question. What is your goal in doing so? "

Mr. Micawber, I was looking for a blank what is appeares, I write to you word for word what it is written on it.

"Please read BEFORE you post
How to take this test ?

If you want to get an explanation on any of the test questions you can write a message. The system automatically adds your test question, the answer options and your selected answer to the forum. All you have to do is write a message /question/ and click on the "send" button. Your name is optional"

This is the text, I only changed that "explanation" in the text I wrote with fat type because this is our problem.

I don't continue this though I made some tests yesterday evening and I would like to control them on the forum page. But I didn't do it! What to do if this blank appears. So henceforth, I can't see the forum page. I must say I am sorry very much.

Regards:
Kati Svaby

Hello, Kati,

I just looked at ESL/EFL Test #261 "Irregular Verbs Test (9)", but I cannot see

"Please read BEFORE you post
How to take this test?"

Can you tell me in more detail where that is located?

At the top right of each question, I see a tab labelled "Click here for Explanation", and that is what you should click if you do not know the answer and want to get an explanation. That creates a post in this forum with a blank message box for you to write a question if you do not know or understand the answer. Then you will get an explanation from some forum member.

Can you not find the forum page without taking a quiz? The 'Forum' tab is on our main page at http://www.english-test.net/

Hello Mr.Micawber,

I' ve found one just now.I hope nobody will fill in till you can find it.
This: Irregular Verbs Test /14/ and this is the second question.

I was watching Irregular Verbs Test/ 13/-but it is ready. This blank appears only at the questions that any teacher couldn't explain till now.

Thanks.
Best regard:
Kati

Aha! OK, I see some of what you mean. If the answer has been previously explained, we get the 'Click Here for Explanation' tab, which brings us nicely to this forum.

But if it has not been previously explained, we get the 'Do you have a question' tab, and that brings us right back to the quiz question! How odd.

But if we go ahead and answer the whole test (without pressing any of those tabs), we get a grade and there is no other problem.

Well, if you want to continue supplying explanations before anyone asks for them, that is a wonderful service. Meanwhile, I need to ask Torsten about this glitch-- if there is one.

Thanks, Kati.

Hello Micawber,

I would like to annex something to your 3. paragraph. I am a student and if I resolve the whole test /10:10/ I stay very curious about the explanation. But if I don't fill in this blank I can't watch it. You are right if I don't press any tabs - there isn't problem only this: I can't read the discussion on the Forum.

When I first saw this blank I got so frightened that immediately I left the page. After I told to myself " "you are coward" " what would happen with you if you wrote a mistake?" So I decided that next time I'll do in this way.

But it was an advanced test of Mr. Alan Townend so I think if you should ask somebody not only Mr. Torsten but Mr Alan Townend also because I think he employed this solution earlier.

Hi,

Mr Micawber, there is no glitch -- that is how all tests work. Unless someone has already asked some kind of question, that tab at the top of each question is labelled ''Do you have a question?''. Once someone has posted a question the tab changes to ''Click here for explanation''.

There is nothing odd about it -- I mean, what kind of explanation should come with every single sentence of every test?!
It is not like we all have just one and the same question regarding those sentences.

Kati, I think you should write in that ''Do you have a question'' box only if you have a question. Otherwise, just watch the ''English Teacher Explanations'' forum and I am sure you will learn a lot (we all do) from our teachers' explanations -- it makes no difference that they were given as answers to other members' questions!

Thanks

Hello,

Christina, you are right partially. Because you don't mention the first sentence, and this is :

"If you want to get an explanation on any of the test questions you can write a message."

Our argument with Mr. Micawber went about this. Can I get an explanation or not?
Since our argument I have done 6 tests without explanation; though I had full of good ideas.

Have a good night:

Hello Mr. Micawber,

You wrote me yesterday: "I will got back to you as soon as I find anything."

I found anything and I did it. I would be very interested in your opinion. I wrote questions on the blanks - in my way.

This test: Downsizing

Please, read it and write me whether it is OK or not ?

I did this sort of tests with the "blank" and there wasn't problem. I would be very happy if you were satisfied with it. There are so many tests, I don't take away anything from anyone. This test was intact though some people did it. I don't understand why they put on questions. This helps everybody.

I am waiting your answer.

Best regard:
Kati
