Hi,

Your question was;

Quote:
Could you tell me what is the difference between admitted and admittedly?

Admitted is technically the past/past participle of the verb admit. Admittedly has the force of an adverb as it modifies what follows afterwards. In the sentence in the test this adverb has the sense of I must confess/admit ...and would be used in an informal style or conversation. Admitted on its own would have the sense of It is admitted that and would be used in a very much more formal context as for example a lawyer in court might say;

Admitted my client stole the items but I should point out ... and this then gives the sense of: I can't deny that .... but ....
