Dear Mister Miccaber,

I hope you don't mind to continue your fantastic work over my English version of text about Tsaritsyno sightseengs.

Middle Palace distinguishes itself by its rich white-stone décor. In 19th century it was planned to use it as a theatre. In 20th century here was a concert hall. That is the reason for its other name - Opera House. The palace is the last building of Bazhenov’s architectural complex. On its boundaries there is a fancifully decorated Figured Gate.

The Figured gate is one of best decorations of Tsaritsyno. While looking at it one can memorize Bazhenov’s letters where he wrote ‘… gate of beautiful shape and tender gothic architecture’
It was placed by the end of the garden and resembles triumphal arch and at the same time light construction of landscape garden. A part of it - Palace Glade (Lawn) is on the left.

From the Figured gate to the “Milovida Pavilion” (2min.)
Since 18th century the architecture and the nature of estate’s buildings and park were closely linked in Russian palaces complexes. In Tsaritsyno park had already existed in times of previous landlords counts Kantemirs. These lands were granted to this family by Peter the Great in 1711. At that time French parks and gardens were in fashion and that became the reason of regular park planning here.

Catherine II in her turn was a connoisseur of English landscape gardens and keen to see this kind of gardens in Tsaritsyno to do so English gardener Frances Reed was invited. He preserved several main alleys of previous park and added a whole net (network)of winding footpaths. This work was continued in the beginning of 19th century when park was beautified with bridges, gazebos and pavilions.

One of them situated ahead is “Milovida” (in English “Nice view”) pavilion.
The building is planned as an open gallery with four small side-premises decorated with medallions, vases and sculptures of ancient goddesses. The most elegant central part has a cylindrical vault painted in grizzle technique. Along gallery’s walls there is a Tuscany order colonnade.

From the gallery “Milovida” the view on Upper Tsaritsyno pond is nice indeed.

Thank you,

Olga.

Dear Teachers,

I want to say once more thank YOU for your help. My question is WHY you do not answer to my questions any more? If I did something wrong just write. I must know.

Hello Dianova,

Your posts appear to be statements rather than questions, therefore they don't require an answer.

Dear Beesneees,

Do you think that grammar and 'English in use' in my statesmens are OK or there are mistakes. For example- is it Place Lawn or Palace Glade?
In my case This is an open space covered with grass behind the palace artificialy made like this by the gardener. Please look through my previous text and correct me if it doesn't sound well.

Thanks a lot,
Olga
