Hello my teacher,

I'd like to take the word a kangaroo not covert but I doubt. Could you explain its meaning? Thanks a lot in advance.

A 'kangaroo court' is a sham legal proceeding which is without proper authority, abusive, or otherwise unjust. It is an unofficial court held by a group of people in order to try someone regarded as guilty of a crime or misdemeanor. They are illegal and most often they are held where public feelings about the misdemeanor are high but where there is a lack of good evidence.
