Hi Kitos, could you rate it? Thank you in advance.
If you could change one important thing about your hometown, what would you change? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.
My hometown, Chisinau, is the capital of Moldova. I love my home-town , because it fascinates everybody with its places, picturesque views, and nature. It is a remarkably green city and has the highest proportion of green spaces of any major city in Europe. There are a lot of city parks, alleys, squares, and gardens in Chisinau. From my point of view, it is the most beautiful and ideal city to live in. Despite this fact, there is one thing I would like to change about my hometown : to replace the existing means of public transport with trams. There are various reasons why I would like to do that.
The first reason why I would substitute the current means of public transport with trams is the air pollution. The most popular forms of transport in Chisinau are buses and minibuses. These vehicles run on fossil fuel which is very dangerous for the environment, as it contaminates air and water. Trams are the best alternative for any means of transport, because they use electricity instead of fuel. Thus, the existing ecological problem, air pollution, would be minimized, and it would become more pleasant and safe to live in Chisinau.
Another reason why I prefer trams instead of the actual means of transports is the noise pollution. Noise pollution, or sound pollution, is an environmental noise that is annoying, distracting, or physically harmful for humans. It adversely affects physiological and psychological health. Noise causes annoyance and aggression, hypertension, high stress levels, hearing loss, sleep disturbance ,etc. The current forms of transport available in Chisinau are responsible for all the above enumerated negative effects. A good solution for this issue could be trams, whose noise is generally perceived to be less disturbing.
The last reason why trams would be the perfect form of public transport , is that their implementation would reduce the traffic jams. They would go on a tight chedule to avoid crowds in them, and people would go to work by them, not by their own cars, or taxi cabs. They would have pleasure to travel by trams , because they are modern, safe and cheap. In this manner, traffic jams would be avoided, because a considerable part of citizens wouldn’t use their own transport.
To sum up, the only thing I would like to change about my home-town is the current means of public transport. I would substitute buses and micro-buses with trams , because they do not contribute to air pollution, noise pollution, and would be a good method to avoid the annoying traffic jams in my home-town. ................................................................................................................................ Yet another rising star for the Forum. Well written Myhaele, but keep a check on your inconsistent punctuation. It is your weak point.
