In some countries a number of animal and plant species is declining. What are the reasons? What can be done to solve this problem?
The purpose of this essay is to discuss the reasons and possible solutions to the loss of biodiversity in some countries. In this essay, I will analyze the causes for this and make suggestions at the end.
Massive biodiversity losses are resulted from the rapid environmental changes. Climate change, for example, has resulted in the scarcity of fresh water and therefore made the extinction in some marine species. Furthermore, the rising temperature is speeding up the distribution of diseases vectors and affecting the agricultural sectors as the increasing amount of pests that fed on crops.
Another reason for the declining biological species is done by human. Animal habitats have been destructed because of human exploitation of the land such as mining and lumbering. In addition, the increasing road-building has transformed the forests or wilderness areas into urban spaces for human. Moreover, the pollutions in those urban areas bring air and water pollution as well as soil contamination, which lead to the disappearance of some distinctive species.
To sum up, we have to first recognize the importance of protecting the ecosystem and biodiversity on our planet. Then through the awareness of people around the world, cross-nation meetings, summits, and agreements can thus be made to solve this problem, as the decrease of biological species may affect us all in the long run. This is a global scale problem, which can only to be tackled by working together and putting the well-being of the whole race and planet as priority. Or else, we might face some disastrous consequences.
