Whether individuals working together contribute more for the speedy execution and success of an assignment than the efforts of different individuals

I would agree that working together in a team contribute more for the speedy execution and the success of the assignment that the individual's effort. Below is my point to strengthen this view.

Since ages, the human beings cannot live alone and has always been looking for a company of others and it is true this time as well. In today's we can live alone for some time but may not be capable of doing all the daily tasks. For instance, when I was staying alone, I had to do all the daily cores and used to get tired. This reduced my performance in my studies. Also while studying alone; if I get stuck at some pint, I may not proceed further. On the other hand, if I have a room mate then we can divide the tasks and also can do as a combine study which will improve my scores. So working as a team is always beneficial.

In software companies, even before a project is assigned, a team will be build to work on this project. Here people belonging to various skill sets are chosen in addition to their ability, intelligence, diligence, leadership qualities etc. This will give a good exposure to the team regarding each other and can also understand the work in a better way.

When a team starts working, each individual contributes to its success. Each member of the team will be assigned some work and this makes to take interest and work to achieve success. For instance, person who is good in leadership quality can be the lead, person good in programming language can take up the developing of the product. Individual good at account keeping can take care of the expenses. Hence each individual would be responsible for their piece. This makes to immerse themselves in the work that they have been assigned.

When working in a team, apart from the success of the work, the interpersonal skills of the individual also improves. For instance, when I was working on one project in my office, of my team members was hesitant in expressing his views as he used to always think that people may not like these thoughts. But while working on the project, he then started freely expressing his view after being encouraged by the team members. This made him a confident person.

On the other hand, working alone may make the person lose interest or get habituated with work. Hence the person may not enjoy his work at all. For instance, when I have been the daily tasks to be completed at office, being a routine work, I do feel enthusiastic to take it and always try to finish as early as possible to get some new work. With loss of interest, I may take a long time to complete a piece of task or may procrastinate as well. However, this does not happen in a team and work gets completed on time.

As there is an old Agade" too many cooks spoil the broth". Hence sometimes the misunderstanding between the team members can also hamper the work. The jealousy, competitiveness etc can play a vital role in unsuccessful completion or delay of the assignment.

To conclude, all the individuals in the team play a vital role in the speedy execution and hence successful completion of the assignment.
