Why are you so Jumpy?

Its your own fault for jumping in at the deep end...

You look like you're about to jump down my throat...

So before you jump to conclusions -

like Jumpin Jack flash -

I was only wanting to borrow your jump leads

to jump start my car

Ok then - you can take a run and jump

Yes, and I'll put them into context too -- for better understanding, of course. :-)

While I was literally jumping up and down with joy upon hearing some very good news, my sister came out of nowhere and startled me so bad that I nearly jumped out of my skin.

jump the gun - To start doing something too soon.

jump through hoops - To make extraordinary efforts, especially in following a prescribed procedure.
