A method is a particular way of doing something.
An approach is the particular way you deal with something.

Often the two are used interchangeably.

Thank you for your quick reply. So why is Audiolingualism considered to be as a method instead of an approach?

Thank you,

You'd have to ask the people who coined the phrase, but wouldn't you agree that it fits the definition of method? It seems to me that it is certainly a particular way of learning a language.

well it is a bit confused as richards and rodgers view Audiolingualism as a method some others do not.

People often interpret concepts differently, leading to such differences of opinion.
