Why do you think people visit museums #1 (permalink) Mon Nov 22, 2010 14:13 pm   Why do you think people visit museums

Many people visit museums when they travel to new places. Why
do you think people visit museums? Use specific reasons and
examples to support your answer.

When it is about visiting another country, it always come culture, past events, customs. In my opinion museums are a great way to get familiar with a certain country. Some people will find it boring other, amusing or even entertaining. Sight-seeing is basically a big part of tourism, therefore when going to other nation museums are a must for every foreigner.

When it comes to the word tourism, it is connected with money. Of course you will need funds when going abroad for your vacation. There are many different options. But among the big variety, museums certainly take a stand. Firstly there are cheap, compared to the other activities. Secondly they are great way to get familiar with other cultures. For example when I’ve visited Bulgaria, I went to a famous author’s house-museum. I was able to see, there were rich people during 19century in Bulgaria. And definitely trading was a big ‘business’ during this period. In addition in museums there is always something to catch your attention. For example take a photo or just spend time watching a picture. Furthermore culture activities are the best way to get familiar with some country’s customs and traditions.

Even if you are native to the country you live museums are a great way to spend your time. The show programs of the most exhibitions are made in way, so they can entertain their visitors. For example guiders who can provide you with facts not-so-well-known to the masses. In addition you can increase your knowledge about your native country. About past events, different national heroes, who are precious to your society. In this way you can even help yourself with developing your common culture.

To summarize, museums are useful to both tourists and native citizens in the country they are situated. They will provide with knowledge and entertain. There is no doubt that you can spend some great time and have great memories.
