Hi, can you please evaluate my essay :) Thank you in advance!
Telecommuting (working for a company from home rather than in the office and communicating with the office by computer) is becoming more and more common. Discuss the advantages of telecommuting versus working in an office. Then indicate which you prefer and why.
How convenient would it be to be able to work from your home and have all your belongings at your disposal? Well, telecommuting is now reality and it gives you exactly that opportunity. Compared with the work in an office, telecommuting has a number of advantages, some of which I will examine in this essay.
To begin with, working from home on the computer is beneficial for the employee, because it is time-saving. Nowadays most of the people don't take their place of residence into consideration when they look for a job. That is why many people live far from their offices and have to take the bus, the subway, or travel by car to reach them. In this regard, telecommuting saves the time, used for traveling from point A to point B and one could make use of it by doing some chores around the house for instance.
Moreover, telecommuting benefits the employer as well because with the decrease of working places in the office, the expenses are in decrease too. Less money needs to be spent for office equipment, including computers, fax machines or printers. Also, if there are less working places, then the office would be smaller and thus, less rent would be paid by the employer, which is a further advantage of telecommuting.
In conclusion, for these reasons I would prefer to work from home and communicate with the office by computer. I can use the valuable time that I will save in commuting to the office to do some chores, or simply pay more attention to my family. After all, communication technology has its advantages, and employers and employees ought to make good use of them. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I liked it. Well written.

Overall, it's already good. But, you can still improve it.
To strengthen your point, why not try to add how tools and software could help telecommuters maintain the office-like environment? This could support your idea of how businesses could save more from telecommuting than having an actual office.
The basic tools telecommuters use are those that help them track their work hours and task like Time Doctor, chat and communicate like Skype and Basecamp and also collaborate in creating documents using Google Docs.
If you add that to the overall point you are trying to express, it would be a big plus to your essay!
Good job by the way. |
