Good morning! Kitos. Thank you for checking my essays :)
Topic: Memorization of information by frequent repetition (rote learning) plays a role in many education systems. Does the usefulness outweigh the limitations?
Frequent repetition is an effective learning method, which is playing an increasing role in some subjects in China or other developing countries. There is a view that students should acquire knowledge by this way because of its various advantages, while some people argue against it. This essay will discuss the issue from both perspectives.
It is true that rote learning brings students numerous benefits. To begin with, individuals may get higher scores if they memorize the contents of certain literature. It is an especially efficient method in obtaining a great deal of knowledge over a short period. In addition, people will have better performances in some courses through this learning method. Linguistics, like English, is a case in point. We must practice it continually to reach an ideal level.
Conversely, there are a lot of weaknesses of rote learning. In the first place, we will forget something of the knowledge after a period of time. For instance, we can seldom remember the details, like names or times from history clearly. Moreover, it is so inflexible that it makes studying uninteresting. As a result, students will feel tired when they meet with a long text.
Last but not least, rote learning is a way that lacks actual application. We cannot understand the knowledge deeply without actual application. For example, we need not only to memorize the formulas, but we also need to practice usually in mathematics.
In summary, although there are some advantages of frequent repetition, it seems that the downsides exceed the benefits. As far as I am concerned, it is not the best approach to learning a good many subjects. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Pretty good Chaozhuo.
