What have you learned about a country from watching its movies? #1 (permalink) Fri Dec 03, 2010 4:37 am   What have you learned about a country from watching its movies?

Films are some of the most significant factors that are taught us about the countries where they made. I strongly believe that, watching a movie or film is the most toughtful method for the people who want to adopt some knowledge about a country. The movie teach us a lot of important knowledge about the country. These are religion of the country, culture of the country, and language of the country. In the same way, I can learn about a country its religion, culture, and language from watching its movies.

To begin with, the actors who act in a film are citizens of the country where the film has made. Therefore, they can reflect the religion of the country with their behaviors. Likewise, the director of the film may become the citizen of the country, so the director may want to teach his or her belif to the people who are going to watch the film. For example, in my country a director called Robert Kahl always reflect the religion of my country in some part of his films. In a few words, we can say that watching a movie presents people an opportunity to learn the belif of the country they have made.

Second, movies give us knowledge about culture of the country that they have made because many directors make films about the culture of their country and the problems that are relate to their culture. For instance, In my country, many films are about love, and in these films the people who love each other never can married because of their families. That is way the culture of these families. In my country, if parents do not want their boy or girl to married with a person they do not like, they cannot married, so the directors try to reflet this problem, and they try to prevent this kind of mistakes.

Third, movies teach us the language of the country where they have made. In general, people want to watch a movie with its original language. Thus, they can learn about the language of the country. Besides, if they watch a movie which has translated to their language, they may learn about the movie’s original language because the sings in the movie is not translated many times.

To sum up, movies can teach us about the culture, religion, and language of the countries where they have made. All above examples and explanations illustrate how the movies teach them to us.
