Hi,

In this sentence: She has 4 children - one is a boy and the others are girls. That means the remaining number (3) out of the 4 are girls.

Hi,

Other means different ones as in this conversation:

A I have another question (one more question) Do you speak other languages (different ones) apart from your own?

B Yes I do. I speak other languages but please don't ask me another question.
