Hi,
In this sentence: She has 4 children - one is a boy and the others are girls. That means the remaining number (3) out of the 4 are girls.

Hi,
Other means different ones as in this conversation:
A I have another question (one more question) Do you speak other languages (different ones) apart from your own?
B Yes I do. I speak other languages but please don't ask me another question.
