Many people have changed from a mainly meat - based diet to a vegetarian one in recent years. What are the possible reasons for this and to what extent do you consider it a sensible option?
In present society, this kind of diet has become very widespread. There are several reasons for this tendency, such as thoughts about finding much healthier and effective diets, and also some people believe that they protect animals by avoiding eating meat. However, it is not always a sensible attitude to meat because there are some hidden disadvantages, such as a lack of proteins among children who do not eat meat. It is important to outline that many people are struggling to maintain their health. This is the main reason why vegetarian diets have become so popular. The positive effect of a vegetarian diet is proved by many scientific researches. At the same time, this practice has very deep roots in history, and even people from the XVII century used to follow this diet. This is another factor, which has significant influence on people's attitude to this diet because it is the part of their customs. Secondly, the XXth. century marked itself as the century of great changes and reforms. One of the most remarkable aspect is that in this century many non-governmental organisations and movements arose, for example, the organisations, which protected animals. These apolitical confederations of people still exist, and they have defined some principals, such as avoiding eating meat because of moral reasons. As a result, some people support these ideas, and find in it some gist. For instance, nowadays we can be witnesses to many protests, which have as an aim to attract attention to the problems of animals. Finally, it is sensible to make a remark that meat includes some vital substances such as proteins, which are an irreplaceable part of children's everyday meal. In fact, children need protein for their growth, and it is not very reasonable to leave out this food. This is the reason why people should avoid using peculiar diets when this question is connected with the destiny of their children. In conclusion, I want to emphasise the main points of the present discussion. From my point of view, it is disputable that vegetarian diet has become very widespread because of its benefits for the human health, and it is important to confess that some organisations popularise these diets. However, advantages are not able every time to outweigh negative effects. The most remarkable example is children who need particular food. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Quiite a good essay Svyatoslavkn.
