Hi deepa,

If you reprimand somebody you find fault with them, you scold them. Alan has created an interesting dialogue that illustrates the meaning of the verb reprimand. To read it, please click here: Manager reprimands employee for being late.

Hi,

in the following sentence:
I'm sorry to say that the boss is going to reprimand him over being late for work so many times.

I don't understand why there is "over being late" and not "for being late"
Why does one use "over" here?
Thanks
johan
