It is often not a good thing to move to a new city or country #1 (permalink) Sat Dec 18, 2010 5:00 am   It is often not a good thing to move to a new city or country

Dear Kitos,
I'm going to take the test tomorrow, thanks for your help these days and hope I can share my good grades soon.

Topic: It is often not a good thing to move to a new city or country because of the loss of old friends.

In one’s life, we may face some situations that we should move from one city to another or even move to another country. Some people think it is often not a good thing to move because of the loss of old friends. However, I disagree with this idea. Following are some reasons to illustrate my standpoint.

First and foremost, with the development of technology, we can keep in touch with our friends after moving much easier than before. For example, with the help of e-mail, MSN and SKYPE, we can meet or chat with our friends as often as we live in the same city. Furthermore, those ways are very cheap, so we don’t need to worry about the costs on it. Therefore, we won’t loss friends because of moving.

In the second place, moving to a new place we may have more chances to meet new people and make more friends. I always remember the scene that I first move to a small town where my grandparents live. I was very nervous at the beginning because I just say good bye to all of my friends in the city. Fortunately, the neighbor introduced a lot of friends to me. They also invited me to join a lot of community activities. I really had a great time there and I am so glad that I moved to that small town.

Last but not least, move to a new place may be really interesting. Every city or country has their own special culture. Learn more about them can broaden our horizons and make our lives much more colorful. Until now, I still like to talk to my friends about the ghost festival which is held in my grandparents’ town. Some of them even ask me to bring them to join the celebration.

In conclusion, with the help of new technologies, we can still keep in touch with our old friends. In addition, we can meet more new people in the new city or new country. Moreover, living in different cities or countries can broaden our horizons. As a result, I believe that move to a new place always good for us.
