In the modern world, there has been a sharp increase in the number of children who are watching television. It is often argued that children must be protected from unsuitable matErials on TV as well as the Internet by government censorship. It also is alleged by opponents that it is the parents' responsibility to contrOl what their children do or watch. Im my view, parents should talk about the drawbacks of the inappropriate materials on TV and the Internet so as to create an effect in the minds of children.
The first opinion is that preventive measures should be taken by parents. Since the protection from inappropriate materials on TV together with THE Internet is the parent's responsibility. Therefore, nowadays parents have started to use parEntAl control programs. However, should children want to watch the films and cartoons banned by THEIR parents, they will be able to learn how to decode the programs. As a consequence, at least, ///parents SHOULD take measures for children to affect such a least level that from unsuitable materials on TV as well as Internet./// BADLY WRITTEN.
On the other hand, opponents of THIS view claim that it can easily be said that children must be protected by government censorship. Unsuitable materials on TV, including THE Internet play a crucial role in children' lives because they learn both useful and detrimental information by TV or THE Internet. Thus, at least, government should put a ban an harmful materials. For instance, even though South Park includes many slang words, it IS broadcast in Turkey and in MANY OTHER countries and is watched by those under the age of 18 even though it is SHOWN ONLY AT night-time. In brief, detrimental materials on TV and THE Internet need to be abolished by THE goverment.
In conclusion, some think that unsuitable materials on TV as well as THE Internet which are broadcast, should be banned by goverNment censorship in order to protect children. Nevertheless, opponents consider that it is the parents' responsibility to control what their children watch. In my opinion, parents who CHILDREN have been AFFECTED BY unsuitable materials on TV, together with THE Internet, should take preventive measures before it is too late. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Good work Retnokisnon.
