In the world of information today, people update what is going on via many different ways, such as television, newspaperS, and radio. However, before those information come to audiences and readers, it was firstly selected by the news editors, who make a decision what should be shown. In my opinion, I certainly believe that the news editors make their decision based on two factors, customer preference and level of hot news. Firstly, the customer preference basically influences the news editors’ decision because the amount of company’s profit depends mainly on the customer’s willingNESS to buy the news. Consequently, news editor must show the attractive news which could APPEAL to the customer’s INTEREST. For instanCE, if THE majority of customerS ARE teenagerS, in order to hit the target customers, the editor might have to put less politicAL and economics news, and inevitably allure them with sport news or stories of celebrities. Secondly, THE level of hot news also determines what to broadcast. Undoubtedly, the news editors choose the up-to-minute news first. People are interested in what is happening rather than what did happen. So, the more RECENT the news, the more likeliHOOD OF the news editors selectING IT to broadcast. That is why all televisions and newspaperS always report “Hot news”. On television and IN newspaperS, we seem likeLY to become used to bad news. Only a small part report good news. Evidently, bad news attractS customerS MORE than good news does, because, bad news prompts us to BE curious. Bad events obviously occur around the world day by day, so people want to know why it happened, who did it, whether it influenceS us or not. However, it would be far better if there WAS more good news. Reporting good news allowS people to share the happy moments. Furthermore, to hear one’s successful story, it might encourage millions of people. Hence, I think news editors should increase the area of good news on television, newspaperS, and other media. In short, the information people receive dependS chiefly on news editors, thereby the role of them is so important. What they should do is try their best to provide us useful information, both good and bad news. .............................................................................................................................It was quite good Omo.
