If someone asks me who is responsible for the position at which I am today,I will undoubtedly give the credit to my parents.I agree that parents are the best teachers.
They build the overall personality of a child.The behaviour of children shows how they have been brought up by their parents.Parents set rules and limitations for children and teach them how to deal with their surroundings since the very beginning of their childhood.This aids in their cognitive development. They develop the sense of right and wrong.In contrast, if the parents fulfill all the demands of children,they tend to become defiant and stubborn.
They serve as true role models and mentors for children.As they know about the strengths and weaknesses of their children very well,they can cater to their needs accordingly.Moreover,they have more life experiences.Thus,they can guide their children accordingly.For instance my father has always guided me to take a right step.I felt like giving up before my pre-medical test but he encouraged me to keep up good work.I was able to fulfill my dream because of him.
Children often have a tendency to copy their elders.If the parents are good,children will automatically follow their good traits.If the parents are involved in some bad habit,young children will still copy them ieven if they are warned not to do so.For example,if a father smokes in front of a child,child is likely to develop this habit some day.
To conclude, parents are the best teachers .They help in overall development of children so that they can set up an exemplary character for the society.

Hi Gill, punctuation simply means to leave a space every after comma and full stop. See the changes:
