Nowadays, food has become easier to prepare. Has this change improved the way people live? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Nowadays, food is easier to prepare than in the past. This change has improved the way people live in adapting itself to the new and faster rhythms of life, but, at the same time, people HAVE become more attentive to the care of theIR bodIES.
Food and recipes have been adapted to the new way of life, especially with regard to the time they need to be prepared. Today we have less time for cooking meals than fifty years ago when women didn't use to go to work. They stayed at home AND TOOK care of their child and of the house. The perfect housewife got up early in the morning to go to the market TO buy fresh vegetables and fruit TO prepare fresh dishes. Today the perfect business-woman mother and wife at the same time, can’t get back home until evening; she’s often tired and the last thing that she wants to do is to spend hours and hours in the kitchen. Luckily there is a solution: pre-prepared meals that you just have to warm up in the oven or in the pan and in only A few minutes the dinner is ready.
The second thing that has helped to ameliorate people's liVES are pre-cooked meals. You can FIND them in carton boxes or plastic bags at the supermarket or at the canteen. There ARE some in which all ingredients are mixed together: there are spices inside, pieces of onion and oil is already mixed up with them in little cubes that with the heat dissolve and we obtain a wonderful taste. For example there are envelopes with chicken and potatoes, or pasta with cheese, or fish and vegetables.
The last point is about the safety of the food. In fact, before a READY-MEAL IS DISPLAYED on the shelves of our supermarkets it is subjected to controls about its freshness, it must not have bacteria or other dangerous substances inside. On the other side, we have to admit that today one uses more pesticides but, at the same time, we’re sure that we’ll be less likely to be infected by illnesses alimentary that can damage our stomach and our body. For example, today we can eat not cooked eggs without any risk of contracting salmonella.
In conclusion, thanks to the improvement of inventions that have made our food more fast, easy to prepare, tasty and healthy, people have obtained a big help in a life that has become increasingly difficult without losing one of lifes biggest pleasures. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Quite a good essay Summertime.
