...you wouldn't want a "Christmas cake"... since, in the US anyway, it'd likely be a fruitcake. On behalf of nearly every American, let me tell you: fruitcake is nasty! Ick! hehe

On the other hand, if you're building a brick house and are short on masonry, fruitcake is hard enough to be used as a substitute.

Also, a person can be nutty as a fruitcake.
I guess I know how the expression came to be. Lol.

PS: some people can be even nuttier than a fruitcake - a sort of record for nuttiness. =)
