the sentence below has many complicated expressions which I bolded them.
"At under $15 a pair, its Starbury One basketball shoe is leading a full-court press on the youth market for budget-priced athletic shoes."

would you simplify the sentence below for me so that I can translate it, please? #2 (permalink) Fri Dec 24, 2010 16:43 pm   would you simplify the sentence below for me so that I can translate it, please?

Hi, I'm not a native speaker, but I'll try to explain=).

"Starbury One" means that this shoe is made by "Starbury" ("Starbury" is the shoe brand like Reebok, Nike, etc)
"full-court press" for me it something like hard pressure
"budget-priced" means just not a big price, affordable price.

So in the end it's the good pair of athletic shoes for the affordable price=)

Hope it was helpful.

Sorry. What did you mean by saying simplify? If it's a problem about vocabulary, I think what you need is a trusted dictionary.

Thank you for your answer Romashka. I think your entries are all correct and rational.

What I meant is to substitute those bolded parts with simpler and easy to understand expressions. I could not find those parts in a trusted dictionary Bookaholic.
