An early memory of my childhood #1 (permalink) Fri Dec 24, 2010 12:47 pm   An early memory of my childhood

Hi dear coach. Please score me. I'd like to thank you for your effort to help me and other myriad English learners.

I might have been four or so that my family lived in a nearly big old house full of some kitties. Although I liked them all day long, at night those cats gave me a terrible fright with their loud struggling noise. When they shrieked loudly, I was so petrified that I could not move, let alone cry or awaken my parents.

By the time I mentioned earlier, my parents used to go to our house's roof to sleep at night. It must have been remarkable moment for them; they talk for an hour with each other and because the sky was so clear they could have seen the twinkling stars and the shining moon in really nice weather. Thus, they tried not to lose any single night to cheer themselves up. If there had not been those ominous cats nearby, I could not have found any single annoying issue about it and it likely would have turned to one of my pleasurable childhood memories.

Actually, I hated to go sleeping under the stars just because of the cats’ noise and whenever my parents tried to ready themselves by taking fabric floor covering and the beds, pretending to watch TV, I disguised my real feelings towards sleeping out there. At one night, when my mother found me imploring not to go out, she realized that it must have been something wrong with me. She embraced me, which I did not really like, and asked me to tell her the truth. When I sincerely said my fear of cats’ terrified screams in some moment at night to her, she replied me that a kid who is under the aegis of his parents would not be afraid of anything at all. Afterwards, my parents were used to hug me and tell me some stories to keep my mind off those frightening cats' sounds.
