Would you tell me whether I am right about my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentences?

“You cannot do anything… Margaret is apparently a free agent, and she has married this man….The only things is to grin and bear it,” said Arthur, rising. (W. S, Maugham, “The Magician”)

There was nothing to do about the heat but grin and bear it, they said, and Sally realized she must do likewise. (K. S. Pritchard, “The Roaring Nineties”)

But it looks like they got to put up with me a spell longer. And you have….So you better just grin and beat it. (R. P. Warren, “All the King’s Men”)
He was grinning with delight, grin and bear it endures pain or trouble without complaint.

grin and bear it = endure stoically, keep a stiff upper lip, put up good-humorously with adversity, with good humor

Thanks for your efforts.
