Because of what detectives found on Brandon's Facebook page, they believe he's done this before, and he is not alone. It is all over YouTube -- young people playing the "Pass Out Game". They're laughing, smiling, taping themselves and posting the video online for the world to see. They think it's funny, but it is far from it.

far from it
This means "far from being funny," doesn't it? In other words, it means "not funny at all," doesn't it?

Right, that's what it means. To be very precise, you could say it stands for "far from funny": it=funny.
