If you could change one important thing about your hometown, what would you change?
A GREAT NUMBER of roads in my home country of Russia ARE in a bad state OF REPAIR. Moscow and Saint Petersburg ARE THE ONLY AREAS THAT the government actually cares about, but the further east in Russia you drive, the WORSE it gets. I HAVE met people in the US who complain about their road systems, but I am certain if they had a chance to drive through my city, they would cry because of the poor quality of the local highways. THEREFORE, if I could change one essential item about my home-town, I would improve the local roadways BECAUSE THEY ARE a nightmare of potholes. I support my point of view with the following reasons. First, improving the roads is my town would help to save a good amount of time because drivers would be able to go faster IN any direction. My home-town does not have traffic jams; however, the road conditions do not allow them to accelerate in order to avoid potholes and bumps. Second is a financial reason. Nowadays car owners in my home-town actually spend more MONEY to fix their vehicles after regular breakdowns than to buy new. Also, goods are INFREQUENTLY delivered to the local stores because of the bad road CONDITIONS. Random people, who could be customers, very seldom drive through my city. These facts make the number of local entrepreneurs even less. Finally, the roads’ improvement would decrease the dangers for drivers in my home-town. Now one third of the local roadways are unpaved. The most common reasons for local auto accidents are the poor road conditions, and dangerous street design. In conclusion, because of the reasons mentioned above I would advance the development roads in my home-town. ............................................................................................................................. Well done Aperson.
