Only movies that can teach us something about real life are worth watching?
Many people nowadays are crazy about cartoon films and fantasy movies, while some people are only fond of movies that can teach us something about real life. In my opinion, although movies teaching something in reality are worth watching, it is unfair to say that they are the only meaningful movies. Cartoon films and fantasy movies are another two kinds of movies that ARE worth watching.
Admittedly, people really benefit from movies that teach us something about real life. For instance, a boy overwhelmed by a sense of despair may turn to be positive about his life after watching the movie Forrest Gump, since he may be deeply moved by the plot that no matter how hard the life is, Gump just keeps running forward. However, it is inappropriate to assert that those movies are the only ones worth watching.
Cartoon films are worth watching, for they give us a good way to relax. For one thing, the appearances of cartoon images are always quite funny. For example, a bunny may have two extremely long ears and its teeth are often amazingly big; a bird may be soaring with two tiny wings and a huge mouth. These animated images can easily make people laugh. For another, the fancy frames in animation are also enjoyable. Commonly, children are attracted and cheered by an exquisite 3-dimensional wedding room or a palace in animated movies. So, I am convinced that people really relax WHILST watching cartoon films.
Fantasy movies are also worth watching, for they allow us to think of new ideas. Take the famous fantasy movie "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" for example. In this movie, cats can fly in the air and the suddenly disappear; a girl can become a giant in a second after drinking a special potion; poker cards can become trained soldiers with wizard's spells. Fantasy movies help progress our thinking and inspire people to solve problems with new method in daily life, so they are also worthy of watching.
As far as I am concerned, it is absurd to believe that it is only worth watching movies that can teach us something about real life. As another two important art forms, cartoons and fantasy movies are equally important to our lives and should be given adequate respect. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Well written Lhx, but an aged topic.
