Many parts of the world are losing important natural resources #1 (permalink) Fri Dec 31, 2010 10:16 am   Many parts of the world are losing important natural resources

Dear Kitos,
Correct me if I am wrong
Thank you in advance!
Many parts of the world are losing important natural resources, such as forests, animals, or clean water. Choose one resource that is disappearing and explain why it needs to be saved.
Human activity implies different processes that increase global pollution. The size of environmental problems has been accelerating in recent years. Human beings are totally dependent on natural resources such as forests, animals and clean water. Though the problems of deforestation and animal extinction are urgent to address, I would like to consider the problem of water pollution.
Firstly, water is one of the most important aspects of ecosystem. The pollution of water results in danger to animals of aquatic environments. The whole ecosystem can be destroyed because of the polluted water. For, example younger animals can be very sensitive to water pollution and their life becomes affected and results in extinction. Moreover, even mature animals that get food from within the ocean may mistake trash for eatables and get harmed. Though the government has been undertaking different measures to control water pollution, the trash in the water is still being generated by plants, factories and illegal dumping.
Last but not the least, human life is being affected more and more by water pollution the same way as plant and animal life is. Contaminated water has caused serious health problems within the last few decades People get to drink polluted water every day. Thus, a lot of bacterial diseases, viruses and skin disorders have been resulted from consuming the polluted water. The oil spilling across the coast lines causes terrible effect both on human beings and animals. For example, spreading very quickly oil prevents aquatic animals from breathing and they die rapidly. The oil spills cause harm to people who use the contaminated water while being not informed about its harmful effect. It has been recently announced that water pollution increases memory loss. Thus, the contaminated water disrupts life on the Earth in a tremendous way.
It is therefore important that people should develop various ways of protecting and cleaning water. Being the main source of life on the Earth, water plays a critical role in different ecosystem processes. While the government is the first body in the society that is responsible for legislations regarding control of water pollution, people should bear in mind that the amounts of illegal dumping directly depend on the way how we treat our environment. To conclude, the developed world must undertake all the effective measures to reduce harmful effect on water.

Best regards,
Alina
