4. In the past people thought that education was only for young people. Now it is believed that education is for a person's whole life. Do you agree? State with you own experience and specific details.
It is an unparalleled advanced age which is awash with information explosion and talented persons. More and more people find that it is hard to survive in an increasingly competitive job market. In this case, continuing education becomes a good option to those who want to boost their knowledge and skills and is common to see in every class of our society. (62)
Several aspects contribute to this phenomenon. Most of all, people need to update their knowledge by taking continuing education. Nowadays, science and technology is advancing at a staggering rate, and the knowledge keeps moving forward. For instance, an IELTS examiner have to update their knowledge more or less since there are more and more new words been including in dictionary and significant events happen every day. They need to expand their knowledge bank to keep themselves in fashion. Also, continuing education provides opportunities to correct our wrong knowledge. As the improvement of science, some theory might transform to a totally different state or complete contrary. Without continuing education, a person, probably, still think the sun running around the earth. What is more, one have to learn in the rest of his/her life since the world is internationalizing. A vast amount of merchant start to do business with foreigners. Disability on speaking in another language would restrict the communication. (158)
In contrast, most of people work as labors in the past, such as farmers and workers. Specifically, they can obtain a decent life by holding a certain skill of disbursing their labor. The more hardworking, the better their lives would be. Therefore, study is only necessary to young people in the past, in order to teach them the basic skills and knowledge. (62)
In conclusion, education is essential for person’s whole life. Just live and learn. Only thus would individuals today gain a satisfied life. (22) Word count: 304 |

5. Some children in rural places cannot have good schools and medical facilities. To improve this situation, some people suggest that new teachers and doctors should be sent to rural places for several years. Others, however, believe every one has the free right to choose where to work. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Division between rich and poor is one of the universal issues to all of countries. There are always some area where is relatively in a state of poverty while some others are increasingly advancing at a staggering rate. Governments, as the one who have the responsibility on enriching their citizens, commit themselves to ease the divisions all the time. In this case, the argument that new teachers and doctors should be involved in the development of rural places seems hold water. (81)
Obviously, the involvement of new teachers and doctors would bring new blood to rural places, which is powerful and needed immediately. On the one hand, new teachers and doctors would change the situation in some places without any teachers and doctors. These places are lack of schools and hospitals since they are so poor that few teachers and doctors would bear that condition for a long time. No one would be willing to stay in a poor place for years instead of a decent life. Therefore, some measures or regulations are necessary to stimulate them. On the other hand, new teachers and doctors could benefit from these welfare activities. Take doctors for instance, and intern in a big hospital rarely has opportunities to operate on his/her patients. In contrast, doctors have to take care of their patients by themselves in rural places where is certainly less competitive. (147)
However, there exists some disadvantages that should not be overlooked. Specifically, if doctors and teachers are forced to a poor village from a big city, some of them, probably, are loath. And this situation could easily transform a teacher to nightmare of his/her students and a doctor to a killer. (50)
In conclusion, after my analysis, I agree that new doctors and teachers should take the challenge in rural places since it is mutually beneficial. But measures should be done in order to ensure it continued, such as prize system and money support from government. The formal can encourage new teachers and doctors go to remote places when they make their decision and the later can offer them a better condition there. (71)

6. Sports are very popular in today's society. Some people believe, "Winning is the only thing." Others believe, “It’s not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game." Is there a way in sports in which both opponents could "win" a game? "Lose" a game? Detail your thoughts on this issue in an essay of about 250 words.
The end of the Asian games recently demonstrate the potential ability of Chinese athlete, since China took the 1st place again in the overall medal table and was far ahead the 2nd country. In the past, those championships would be seen as heroes. But now, the topic that whether the concepts of sports all are about championship or not emerges to the public and leads to a hot debate. As far as I am concerned, sports aim for not only a win but also physics and mental success. (88)
Winning a game is not the mainly purpose of sports and it also depends on how much you can obtain from it. Most of all, sports are primarily beneficial for people’s health. As we known, a vast amount of disable athletes in the Paralympics Game attended to be a sportsman is essentially for those exercises since they could make their body stay coordinated. Thus, opportunity to take part in the Paralympics Games means a win to them. Also, sports can bring honors and friends to us. Take my own experiment for instance, I was fond of playing basketball since I am a little girl, so I always played basketball with boys in my university. Eventually, although I never win a game, I do get a great deal of honors and friends in school, including my present boyfriend. What is more, sports can teach us some living skills. Taekwondo, Gongfu and boxing makes it possible to protect ourselves after training. (159)
In contrast, a vast amount of people insist that winning is the only thing for sports. However, these people ignore the mean interesting aspects during the process. That is, only if one do sports with modest attitude and restricting in a suitable level, he/she could gain friendship and health. The spirit of Chinese athlete was doubted by public because the training was too harsh for young athlete and they were taught to be a winner. Actually, according to their coaches, only a winner could be seen as a real player. (90)
In conclusion, I strongly agree that people should enjoy the process of sports and gain valuabe things physically and mentally instead of aim to win. Winning is only an attitude. Once individuals get what they need, they will win the game. Therefore, there are games that both opponent are winners or losers. (52)

7. Some people think that examinations have some bad effects on both students and teachers. Some people say they do a good job in the evaluation of the students’ performance. What is your opinion?
From primary school to university, examination and grade plays a significant role to every student. Specially, good grade has become the primary key to some big companies’ door in job market and colleges seem GPA as an essential factor for entrance. Although examinations and their scores are widely accepted by public, we still need to consider them from both advantages and disadvantages. (62)
On the one hand, examination has its unique qualities which could be hardly replaced by other ways. Most important of all, it provides the fairest way to test students’ ability. The college entrance exam in China is a typical example for this. No matter who one’s parents are or how rich one’s family is, this example ensures all of examinees could be evaluated and admitted in an equal situation. Also, examination could demonstrate a host of aspects of a student. A good student with a great grade is usually hardworking, smart and logical. What is more, examination is also a good approach to test and enhance our knowledge. Obviously, after study by weeks or months, the most effective way to test our knowledge is to take an exam. (128)
On the other hand, there are surely some disadvantages of examination that could not be overlooked. Most of all, someone might argue that exams cannot reflect all aspects of a person, especially the moral qualities. It is probably true because a murderer would have had an excellent grade in school. Moreover, score is so important that a great number of students ignore their development on other aspects. For instance, most of Chinese students can hardy cook a meal or do some household chores. And study kills all of their time instead of pursuing their interests. (95)
In conclusion, examinations do an essential job in the evaluation of students’ performance and could not be replaced in a short term. But, some measures should be adopted by schools and parents to evaluate students more comprehensively and encourage their interests, such as mutual evaluation and interests classes. (48)

8. Even though globalization affects the world’s economies in a very positive way, its negative side should not be forgotten. Discuss.
In this modern age, science and technology is advancing by minutes, and the Internet makes it possible to communicate immediately by replacing the traditional way of transmitting messages hand by hand. Although people on our planet are separated by countries, there is actually no border on economy due to the globalization. However, we still need to consider both positive and negative influences of globalization while it is becoming the inevitable trend. (71)
The globalization comes up with countless advantages and impacts everyone’s life. The most important of all, there would be more opportunities for people to do business and earn money. Some advanced countries have advanced skills but lack of natural resources while others have plenty of materials but no skills, such as America and Southern Africa. By globalization, America can help Southern Africa mine its diamond and gold. Eventually, they will get win-win. Also, the globalization is a economic approach for companies to save money. It is well known that products of the Apple company are made in China since China has the cheapest labor power. What is more, globalization can make people’s lives more convenient and abundant. For instance, in China, individuals could choose not only native living goods but also some high quality products imported from overseas, such as Japanese electric device, German furniture and French clothes. (148)
On the other hand, while we enjoy the convenient lives globalization gives, there are some negative influences that should not be overlooked. Firstly, some languages and cultures are eroding some others, especially those lesser-known ones. People commit themselves to learn a universal language for better communication and ignore some of their valuable native culture is on the very fringe of extinction. Moreover, globalization lowers the employee rate to some countries. A large number of companies move their manufactories to China to decrease their expense, which leads to mass dismissal in their own country. (93)
To sum up, globalization certainly has positive effects to our world. But efforts from government should take to ease the negative influences before they become the uncorrectable issues. (28)

9.Some people think that children of different abilities should be educated together. Other people think that it’s better to teach the intelligent children separately and with special treatment. What do you think? use your own ideas of knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.
Obviously, in most cases people need schooling. But the certain situation of every single student is different. Some students are wide and could learn everything in a minute while some others can hardly gain knowledge even teaching them repeatedly again and again. Therefore, it is necessary to analysis whether intelligent students should be taught separately with special treatment or educated with the others together. (64)
Teaching intelligent students separately has a vast amount of advantages to both students and teachers. One the one hand, it can greatly boost study efficiently to intelligent students and extend their potential ability as possible as they can. Without wasting time on repeat again and again, intelligent students can go deeper on the path of pursuing knowledge. And discussion with smart companion in a competitive atmosphere can stimulate their power and spirits. On the other hand, teachers also benefit from it. For teachers, they do not need to consider about those students who fall behind. Teacher is somewhat similar to a tailor. They can only make one shirt and everyone in the talent class would be fit. (117)
However, separate education also comes up with disadvantages which could not be overlooked. Firstly, it is not good to culture good characteristics. Some students in talent class would have sense of superiority and, then, they would be proud and despise peers in a common level. Also, intelligent students would not play a good role in a group work in their future. Evidently, they would get used in cooperating with smart partners and there would not be such partners in their future. (81)
As far as I am concern, separate education is a better option to an intelligent student. I was in a talent class in my high school and it fits me very well. That competitive atmosphere spurs me a lot or I would never get where I am. (47)
