Should teachers talk their social or political views to student in the class?

Some people agree that teachers discuss their social or political views in the class, while others oppose them to do so. Education serves the function to make individuals to survive in the society. Although students can learn about the society from that kind of topics, there is something more important for them to learn. In my opinion, teacher should endeavor to assist students to study knowledge and find out their aspiration, rather than talking their social or political views in the class.

First, the commitment of teachers is to delivery basic knowledge to students. Through education, students learn various kinds of knowledge so that they would be qualified to become a professional after graduation. In this process, teachers should help them to learn with higher efficiency. Teachers will not only give assignments and tests to strengthen the learning effect, but also answer the question in studying.

Although a teacher's comment on society appears useful knowledge for students, it indeed wastes students' time in learning. The process of studying basic knowledge takes a lot of time. To teach that knowledge would almost use up the time in a class, which is even not enough for teachers to achieve the essential commitment thoroughly. Therefore, teachers' opinion about the society should be put aside.

Further, besides teaching knowledge, teachers should assist students to find their aspiration toward their career. In this step, teachers should interact with their student actively, instead of just expressing their own opinion. Teachers should try to realize their student more, encouraging him or her to talk about his/ her opinion. Therefore, students would better identify their characters, and thus put themselves in the right position in the society.

Students should learn fundamental knowledge and discover their aspiration through education, rather than learning their teachers' opinions on the society. Teachers should assist students as much as possible to learn essential knowledge and find their suitable position in the society. Therefore, there should be no time available for teachers to discuss their points of view on the society and politics in the lecture.

Good morning Yecochi. You wrote a lot, and yet said what could have been said in half the time. Try to be more concise. You repeated many of your points, and wasted time in reinforcing your opinion.
1. We are in school to learn, not to listen to the teacher's opinion.
2. It is not a teachers role to expound his own opinion, but to form our own opinions.

That is all that was required.

Kitos. 7.5/10
