Compulsory Attendance #1 (permalink) Sun Jan 02, 2011 1:01 am   Compulsory Attendance

Compulsory attendance has become a controversial issue in Turkey in recent years. The government desires to extend compulsory attendance over almost all universities despite reactions of opposition. In this regard, I entirely advocate that compulsory attendance should be extended all over the schools. As, there are favorable aspects of compulsory attendance in terms of chance to communicate with teachers and increased success rate.

To begin with chance to communicate with teachers, It can easily be asserted that individuals who make an effort to learn anything could learn it more easily with the aid of a teacher. On the contrary, even though they show a great determination, students who are tried to understand a issue alone may not entirely gather it. This case only related to learning processes of people.

When it comes to increased success rate, it is an indisputable fact that the more communication between teachers and students increase, the more succesable activities will become. For instance, in university enterance exam, numerous private schools have gained ascendancy over public schools. Because of the fact that thay have special classes which are consisted of less number of student according to public schools. Thus, these classses enable teacher to communicate with their students closely.

On the other hand, some people claim that compulsory attendance brings about to strict the freedom of students. However they turn a blind eye that just as students have freedom to spend their time on their hobbies they also some compulsions. Such as; studying, being success and fullfil their responsibiities. Should they neglect their responsibilities, they could not have freedom to do what they want.

All in all, taking everything which are mentioned above into consideration, chance to communicate with their teachers and increased success rate can be regarded as the positive aspects of compulsory attendance. In my opinion, the government should pursue a policy to increase the rate of schools which are applied compulsory attendance.

Good morning Ibra. Quite a good essay, but slip-shod punctuation. Reviewing your work would probably have alerted you to quite a few silly errors. You can do better than this.
