Internet shopping has increased recently. How does it make an impact on the environment? What new types of jobs should be created?


In Korea, more than a quarter of the total goods are being sold on the Internet shopping mall. We can buy every product on there. In the following paragraphs, I will enumerate two main effects of growing the Internet shopping mall on the environment, and then list several jobs which should be created due to the Internet shopping.

The bigger the Internet shopping mall is getting, the bigger impact they have on the environment. One of the outstanding advantages of this is that it causes air pollution, since goods sold on the Internet are delivered by means of transportation, such as trucks and trains. On the other hand, it cannot always have a bad effect on the environment. By doing Internet shopping, we can save the space which is used for displaying goods. It also means that we no longer need to build new building for shopping mall, but just some warehouses.

We can imagine some specific jobs which will be generated because of Internet shopping. I will suggest two jobs. One is an expert who takes 3D photos of goods instead of 2D photo, because consumers prefer checking good in detail before purchasing it and I personally think that they will be satisfied with 3D photo in order to check the shape of products. The other is a person who buys goods instead of those who has no enough time to do the shopping. The reason why the job should be created is that most people are so busy to work, so they will hire a specialist to do the shopping instead of them.

Taking all that into consideration, Internet shopping will have a great impact not only on the environment, but also on kinds of jobs in the near future.
