Hi Kitos Sir will you please check my essay.

Listening part:

My response: The reading passage and the lecture mainly discuss about the impact of watching television on the school performance of children. The author states that children who watch television get lower grades in school and he gives three reasons of support. However, the professor explains that it is completely wrong to say that lower grades in school are associated with watching television. He refutes each of the author's reasons in the following way;
First, the authors claims that it has been shown in the studies that children who spend most of their time before television, obtain low grades in school, especially those who have television sets in their bedrooms. On contrary, the professor refutes this point by saying that it is not logical at all. According to him, for example, Japanese children, who watch more television than American children, show better performance in school and achieve higher grades. This point of view is also supported by the research that children who spend some time watching television, get good marks in their class as compared to those who don't.
Second, the article posits that television can't be considered as an educational tool. This is because mostly children watch television for cartoons, games or for other kinds of entertainment. On the other hand, the professor says that television can act as a source of information and innovation for the children. The choice of programs should be kept under consideration.
Third, the reading says that children who spend more time watching television are less active. They don't spend time with other people, don't mingle with the other children and that's why their parents should just turn the television off. The professor opposes this point by explaining that the parents should pay attention to their children and should make them learn to organize for their daily activities. For example, let them spend about two or three hours before television, helping them in choice of programs they watch, and pushing them to the extra curricular activities such as book reading, playing games or going to the zoos.
