People think that living in large cities is hard and uncomfortable. #1 (permalink) Wed Jan 05, 2011 13:29 pm   People think that living in large cities is hard and uncomfortable.

People consider living in large cities hard or uncomfortable. Why do you think this is so? What would you suggest to make improve this situation?

I live in Seoul which is the capital of the republic of Korea, and I sometimes feel that living in here is uncomfortable because of several reasons. Like me, some people have the same feeling. In the following paragraphs, I will enumerate several reasons why they feel in the way and list two main solutions to deal with it.

More than half of Koreans live in Seoul and Kyeonggi province which accout for 20 percent of the total Korean area. It means that there are too many people in big cities. The population’s concentration in large cities makes a place crowded and complex. It also leads to terrible traffic congestion. Every Korean in Seoul suffers from the traffic congestion, especially during rush hour. Other reason why they think that living in big cities is hard is that residents usually do not know who their neighbors are. They have no connection with people who live next to their house. It makes people feel lonely in large cities.

To solve the problem of population’s concentration in large cities, governments should devise a tangible method in order people to move out from cities. One of effective ways will be generating a diversity of jobs in the countryside. In addition, the more roads and means of transportation are built, the more people in large cities feel comfortable by not having difficulty commuting.

Taking all that into consideration, it is true that some people feel hard and uncomfortable on living in big cities. We should pay attention to the ways to make big cities to be an optimal place to dwell.

Thank you very much. You always help me improve my English skills

It means that there are too many people in big cities. The population’s concentration in large cities makes THEM crowded and complex. It also leads to terrible traffic congestion. To solve the problem of THE population’s concentration in large cities, governments should devise a tangible method in order TO ENCOURAGE people to move out from cities. One of MOST effective ways WOULD be generating a diversity of jobs in the countryside. In addition, the more roads and means of transportation THAT are built, the more people in large cities feel comfortable IN not having difficulty commuting.

Taking all that into consideration, it is true that some people feel hard and uncomfortable on living in big cities. We should pay attention to the ways to make big cities SEEM to be NOT an optimal place to dwell.
