A foreign visitor has only one day to spend in your country. Where should this visitor go on that day?
Being a country with rich cultural heritage, bewitching countryside and hospitable people, Bulgaria is a famous tourist destination. The benign climate and relief draw tourists from every corner of the world. Picturesque villages, luxurious resorts, exquisite mountains and a warm sea bring tourists an unforgettable holiday. So, If I had to chose a place to show a visitor, I would chose Melnik. Located in the south part of Bulgaria, it is famous for its traditions, history, relief and serenity. Firstly, this is a place where modern meets traditional. While strolling among its streets you can see awe-inspiring architecture and feel quite different atmosphere. The architecture by itself depicts the foregone era of Ottoman slavery. In addition, you can book a guest house at a good price. Not only can you spend the night there but you can also try some traditional dishes such as Moussaka, Stuffed Papers and Kapama. What is more, Melnik is conspicuous with its specific sort of wine. Secondly, the countryside there is really enchanting. Near the town, rocky formations are formed due to the climate and wind. Called ‘’The Pyramids’’ they catch the tourist’s eye with flawlessness and beauty. Moreover, a lot of tourist paths are available for the zealous tourists; paths lead to marvelous waterfalls where you can sit back and have a barbeque. Thirdly, a lot of monuments can be observed which are related to the rebellions during the XIX century. A great deal of churches and chapels also take place there which are symbols of trust and persistence of the Bulgarians. All in all, I think that this is just one of many similar places which are significant for Bulgaria, but I think that Melnik is a noticeable one and must be visited. I am sure that a visitor will be amazed at how beautiful and preserved this place can be.
