hi kitos, please help me to correct my essay.
Recently there has been a sharp increase in the number of crimes. Many studies have been made in order to determine the factors that incite people to commit crimes. These studies have revealed that there are several causes of this problem leading people to live under threat. Poverty, uneducated people and corruption of the young are some of these reasons.
First of all, poverty is one of the most important reasons leading to crime. Nowadays, it is possible to see a lot of people who cannot afford to make their own ends meet of their family or to send their children to school. Nevertheless, they are aware of the fact that the responsibility of supporting their family belongs to them. Therefore, they tend to commit crimes as a last resort; such as stealing something. It is obvious that there is a strong link between THE economic status of people and the rate of crimes. That is to say, poor and unemployed individuals are more likely to take part in criminal activities.
Secondly, it has been observed that in those societies where the literacy rate is very low, the rate of crimes is extremely high. IllIterate people are more likely to commit crimes than literate ones. As is well-known, the main task of education is to prepare students for their societies. Educated people learn the rules of living in a community at school. They learn the importance of order and discipline in social life.
Thirdly, the corruption of the young is considered as the most crucial factor according to many experts. Indeed, because of different reasons parents have become more permissive towards their children. The excessive permissiveness has caused them to get bad habits at their early ages, like taking alcohol or various drugs. There is no doubt that the people under the influence of such habits have more tendency to commit crimes. Young people have been neglected a lot since many parents have became career-oriented and egocentric. Such parents are more interested in their career or job than their children.
To sum up, it can be said that the increase in the number of crimes stemming from several factors like poverty, low literacy and the corruption of the young. Therefore, if the government tries to raise the living standards of poor people and to encourage the young to have a good habits, it is more likely that the rate of crimes look as if it will decrease enormously. ............................................................................................................................ Good work Retnokisnon.
