Effects of a Greater Percentage Receiving Higher Education on Its Country #1 (permalink) Sun Jan 09, 2011 18:33 pm   Effects of a Greater Percentage Receiving Higher Education on Its Country

Education is utilizing a person's capabilities for ultimate benefits. Three effects of a country having a greater percentage of the population receiving a higher education are economical aspects, enhancing lifestyle and causing a greater perception of what is good and what is wrong.

Education and economy are interwoven; each affects the other by a great deal. Following higher education, a country will grow more developed and will enrich its financial angle. Local expertise will be available, which will result in less foreign employment and bypass their high wages. Better education will help a country reach a point of independence when related to information and industry. Furthermore, less money will be spent on scholarships to foreign countries if the universities in a country are on par with the ones outside.

As education is ameliorated, lifestyle is improved. People will be faced with fewer crimes. Studies show that almost 2% of high school drop outs end up incarcerated as opposed to only 0.1% of people with B.A. or higher. People's confidence in themselves is usually boosted after college education. In result, they become less susceptible to psychological illnesses. Respect will be shared more frequently between people as college teaches people values and traditions because of the usual diversity of people in colleges. Moreover, people who attend college are usually able to express themselves more clearly and what they say or write is usually comprehensible.

Superiority in the quality of education will lead to people having a better perception of the surroundings. With better education, there will be higher volunteering rates, such as blood donations. People will be able to choose healthier food choices. Less will try smoking. Adults with high education are more effective in motivating their children as well as increasing their eagerness to learn.

William A. Foster said: “Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.” High education enables a person to think wisely and in many directions. In return, it improves economy to a greater degree, provides the society with more knowledge and fewer crimes and enhances the perception of the environment surrounding us.
