REALITY SHOWS
Everyone has been familiar with TV programs which are called reality shows. These programs have become trend and are shown whole day on TV. They are based on family tragedy and such simple themes. Since reality shows are watched by people, social scientists study the causes of the reality shows' success and they are faced with two significant reasons.

The main reason why reality shows are most popular is that TV channels want them. Firstly, these programs are liked by everyone. When they are shown, channels get high ratings and more advertisements. Accordingly, they gain high revenues. Another fact why Tv channels want them is the cost of these programs is low. Participants are only ordinary people, so channels do not pay extra money for these programs.

The second important reason why these programs become popular is that viewers desire to watch them. Reality shows are most similar to gossip between friends and neighbours and people, especially women, like to watch and talk about others lives. Because of this reason they have large mass. In addition to this, the participants, espacially, is an important point. They are ordinary people and viewers identify with the characters of such shows.

To sum up, there are two main resons why reality shows are so popular: channels want them and viewers want them. It is a fact that these shows have so much influence and next stage, I think, social scientists should study their positive and negative effects.
