The accidents ratio has increased incredibly in the world. Many people are suffering from accidents, and others have died. An enormous number of accidents have been occurring in Saudi Arabia, especially in Riyadh. There are a lot of things which cause accidents. Some things that cause accidents are exceeding the speed limit, a driver losing attention and changing of the weather.
]First of all, exceeding the speed limit is one of the major things that cause accidents, and it is the most dangerous one leading a driver to lose control of the vehicle. Unfortunately, many Saudi teenagers race with others, so they exceed the speed limit to win the race. Traffic lights serve as the starting point for the race, and when the race starts, the risk of an accident occurring goes up as the speed accelerates. In case an emergency condition happens, people tend to go to a hospital. But because of this emergency condition, people speed up to reach the hospital quickly. And as I mentioned, this speed might be more than what it should be, so the driver is barely controlling his car, and that could end with an accident. Most Saudi people are accustomed to exceeding the speed limit, so when they try to slow down, although they remain slow for a few Kilometers, they come back again to accelerate their speed more than what it must be.
Second, there are a lot of things that distract a driver during driving. These things lead to an accident occurring. Nowadays, cell phones are considered the most distracting device. Using the cell phone during driving is a bad idea that could lead to an accident. Talking with a friend or another person, chatting, and using the cell phone's applications are the most dangerous factors that distract the driver while driving. Also, eating during driving could lead to an accident because when the driver eats while he is driving, at least one of his hands will be busy eating. For that, the driver will lose the control of the car. Normally, drivers talk to a passenger while they are driving. That increases the threat of an accident occurring, especially when the driver turns his head when he is talking or listening to the passenger. It is obvious that that distracts the drivers’ attention.
Finally, changing of weather conditions is something uncontrollable. Changing of the weather might lead to an accident occurring, especially when the driver is not aware of what to do if the weather changes. A sandstorm is the most periodic change that could happen in many cities in Saudi Arabia. Sandstorms obstruct drivers' visions when they happen, and they lead the truck to be unstable, which makes the driver lose the control of his car. Similarly, foggy weather is sometimes related to sandstorms, but there are some differences. Objects become difficult to see, and it is hard to know the exact distance between cars. Drivers have to estimate the distance by themselves, and when they estimate the distance incorrectly, they will have an accident. Sadly, vague vision between cars could cause a series of accidents to occur. As usual, it rarely rains in Saudi Arabia. People in most cities in Saudi Arabia are not accustomed to rainy weather and how to deal with it as well, so it makes it hard for them to avoid colliding because they don't know how to deal with rainy weather.
There are huge numbers of accidents that occur daily in Saudi Arabia. Exceeding the speed limit is the most common cause for accidents and most dangerous one as well. Losing the driver's attention and fickleness of the weather also plays a dramatic role for causing accidents in Saudi Arabia.
