Hello,

Are the following wordings natural?

1. I can say with every confidence that we've been played for a bunch of saps by the government.
2. I have every confidence to say that we've been played for a bunch of saps by the government.

Thanks in advance!

#1 is the native structure, not #2, but the formality of 'with every confidence' does not sit well in a sentence with the slang 'a bunch of saps'.
