| Personally to say, I would suggest you take the toefl, if you have a relatively middle level of English or better listening skill, the 80 should not a problem. And I choose the former myself either. |

Hi friends i am new to this forum. So hello to all friends. Friends i am in a strange position now a days.I have taken Toefl iBT two times but the average marks the same.
Reading 19 Listening 19 speaking 24 Writing 26
But i need 23 in reading and 25 in listening. I dont know what new else should i do to improve these points. I am thinking to replace toefl to IELTS.What is your suggestion? Because long 5 paragraphs followed by listening section makes it hard to answer the questions moreover the questions are very tricky not direct . It is memmory test as compared to english knowledge. |

Hello Zorro,
Welcome to the forums.
I would say whichever exam route you follow, you need to improve your English if you hope to get a higher mark. The hard truth is that TOEFL is not a test of memory. It has tested your command of English and found that it is high enough to get the given marks, but no more than that. If you change to an IELTS exam it is likely that the marks you need to get will change to reflect this.
Here are some examples of things you need to improve which I've taken from your single post above:
The pronoun is 'I', not 'i'. If you write it as you have here, you will lose marks. If you begin a sentence with 'so' you are likely to lose marks. Study the difference between connectives and conjunctions. 'Nowadays' is one word. You would lose marks for writing it as you have. 'But the average marks the same' doesn't make sense. I think you mean 'but the average mark is the same'. If you begin a sentence with 'but' you are likely to lose marks. Study the difference between connectives and conjunctions. 'Dont' is written with an apostrophe: don't. 'I am thinking to...' is incorrect here. It should be 'I am thinking about'. You should have a full stop after 'makes it hard to answer the questions'. You should have a comma after 'moreover'. The correct spelling is 'memory. 'English' requires a capital letter.
There are a few other strange phrasal choices as well, but the ones I've highlighted are basic errors. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |
