Teachers should encourage their students to question everything? #1 (permalink) Sat Jan 15, 2011 15:11 pm   Teachers should encourage their students to question everything?

There are many strategic ways to keep the students actively participating in class discussions in school. I agree that one way of doing this is that teachers should encourage their students question everything they want to know. I believe that there are many students who don’t speak out in the class because they are shy or they are afraid of being rejected by their classmates. For these reasons, I side with the idea that teachers must let students voice their opinions so that they can develop good communication skills, develop their future study, and create a wholesome atmosphere inside the classroom.

There is a plain truth that students can cultivate the ability of independent analysis. This makes the quality of education more pronounced and keeps students filtering what teachers taught in their mind. By letting the students raise their hands and encouraging them to ask questions, it will not only benefit the students in gaining knowledge on the subject matter but also lead to a better teacher-student relations. For instance, before I graduate from my high school, I use to be a silent student, when encounter a problem, I used to deal with it myself, it not only waste a lot of time but may lead me to a wrong result. Before the final exam, My biology teacher find this trouble and call me to his office, he worry about my lesson and give me advice that I can ask him if I have any questions, since then, I get more positive to search for problems and the process of learning get more easier and more efficiently, I appreciate the help offered by my biology teacher for his willing to help me clear up my doubts.

In addition, it contributes to a wholesome atmosphere. When there is reciprocation between teachers and students, students are eager to think more and ask more, during the process of exchange ideas, they are more like to learn the knowledge accurately, which results in a ideal teaching effect. Take my chemistry class as an example, professor Liu always call students to ask questions or let us to answer what he asked, which makes the classroom alive and fun, once I ask him why the bicycle of mine get red after rain, he told us that because of the iron reacts with water and air, it produces rust, besides, he discribe his experience in steel works, which illustrate the process of iron making. I believe such a interesting class can attract our attention and the knowledge absorbs more easily and efficient.

Moreover, it helps to our future study. Through questioning, students have the opportunity to express their minds, that we can adopt a way that thinking independent, we could always find questions while we get touch with new subject. It allows us to study one thing in every aspects, and analysis in detail, after graduation from school, we would get more novelty from people of different backrounds. My friend Lee, during his employed period in Lenovo, one of famous computer companies in China, he always inquire from colleagues and qualified workers, which he got is not only the progress of his job performance, but also the good inpression in colleagues and managers.

To sum up, from the points presents above, I firmly believe feel that encouraging students to question everything is a positive habit in students.it can help to cultivate independent analysis while they study, the learning will be more alive and efficient under the healthy atmosphere, as well as it contributes to a successful future.

Because this is the first time send my essay, please give me as many advices as you can, thank you, I will appreciate!
