A gift (such as camera, soccer ball, or an animal) can contribute to a child’s development. What gift would you give to help a child develop? Why?
Parents can give their child many kinds of gift, ranged from a ball to a bike. If I have a chance to give a kid a gift, I would give him a book. Books help a child acquire knowledge, improve writing skills and form a good habit.
First, books give children an opportunity to acquire new knowledge. Books bring to them a view of a new world they have never ever seen. They broaden kids’ awareness and imagination. Moreover, this knowledge might helpful to their future student life.
The second effect of reading books is forming a good habit. Having accessed to books since they are small, children will soon have a passion for books. They also evaluate whether the book is good or not better than other counterpart.
Reading books also improve children’s writing skills, which is very important. Kids can learn from the writing style of an author. Then, when they write an essay, they can reproduce this style and make it their own. They are even able to learn how to access information and demonstrate them.
Books obviously have great influence on children’s characteristic. Being pure and easy to influence, children are likely to copy the action they read in a book. So, if parents give them a good book, their child will become a good person. Furthermore, books make children more successful and develop their necessary personality for society in future. Books such as fairy tales give children a lesson about life, friendship, dream, etc.
In consequence, it is true that we have numerous choices in order give children as gifts, but it cannot be denied that we should take into account which gift can help a child’s current and future development. It is quite reasonable for parents to give their children a book as present.
Please read and correct my essay. Thanks.
