Hi,
Shrink means to reduce in size, to become smaller.
Sob means to weep.
Pierce has the meaning of sound suddenly and sharply (usually through something such as silence or darkness). For example, a scream can pierce the silence.
Shriek means to utter a shrill cry with a high-pitched voice.
Shriek is stronger in meaning than scream and we usually say to shriek with laughter.
