stick one's neck out= do the risky , do or say something that may be a severe criticism in a painful experience.
Exp:
I may be sticking my neck out (=in predicting sth uncertain) but I think he's going to win.
I may be sticking my neck out, she doesn't believe in me, even she criticizes me.
