Nowadays, the number of people visiting other countries is increasing. This brings the opportunity of visiting other countries people and being familiarized with their culture. Some believe that during these visits, foreign tourists must follow the host country people's customs and behavior, while some have a different idea and say that the host people must accept cultural differences. There are some benefits and drawbacks about these two views, which are discussed below.
By expansion of tourism industry, some countries welcome to different people from various countries and cultures. This had some destroying effects on some countries cultures which were visited by foreign tourists, since they induced their bad habits to the host country's people. For example,Thailand, which is annually visited by a large number of tourists, is now challenging with two major problems, sexual problems and drug abuse, which are imported by foreigners to its pure culture.
By contrast, beneficent influences such as new technologies and large amount of money imported by tourists must not be ignored. Actually, while a country's people can adopt themselves with good affects of tourism, there will be large developments happening through that country.
There would be little effects on those countries which have a hopeful and religious basis. As a good example, Iran, which is an Islamic country, has been less affected by bad habits brought by tourists than other such as West-Eastern Asian countries.
All in all, I believe that both visitors and hosts must come into a fairly respectful treat with each other. While a good habit can be distributed through an area and a new culture can have the opportunity to be exported, I think that we must notice both groups customs and arrange them in ways to have good influences on each other.
