It's a provocative and interesting piece in pop culture fashion that lacks the most important component: An answer to the question how to solve the situation. The guy is just bitching in a fancy way without offering any alternative. He says he doesn't trust his government but he does say that he is going to take any responsibility for what is happening to his nation either. Any coward can use slogans like 'our government is bad' and post a colorful video on YouTube. But is this enough to change anything? How do you suggest the vast majority of Americans (and other nations for that matter) should think and behave?

Why do you think we are behaving like sheep following a small group of leaders although many of are not happy with our governments? The answer is very simple: Because the vast majority of all people in all countries don't want to be bothered with politics. They are not interested in politics. They are interested in the latest tech gadgets, the latest clothes, good food, clubbing and watching TV. Who cares what is going in Afghanistan or Iraq when the new iPhone is out?

The vast majority of all people (including myself) are too lazy to even think about what is really going on around us. It's a bit like knowing you should go to the dentist to get that tooth fixed but you keep putting it off because it's something unpleasant you don't want to reminded of. "Life is too short to be bothered with world politics", isn't it? Politics is for the politicians and everyone knows they are crooks so I'd rather spend my time figuring out how to save on my new car than reading and thinking about politics.

As long as millions of people around the world have at least one cell phone and a computer they will keep on collectively bitching about their politicians and government putting the blame for their miseries on others.

If I say that I'm not interested in politics and that all politicians are liars then I'm smart, clever and a great tough guy, ain't I?

Hehe!!! got someone thinking :-)

Don't go for the usual "attack the messenger" routine Torsten.

Joe Rogan gets lot of air play in the States and he freely admits his mentor is Bill Hicks.R.I.P

He like Bill is essentially a (famous) entertainer. I think they have more of a chance of changing things than Politicians have. I agree with what you're saying about people and their distractions - but I would guess the American economy and its people are closer to Vietnam type rioting on the streets than one might think....

Hi Jamie, I think we have been discussing this many times before: There will be no riots in any country where the majority of its citizens have enough to eat, own at least two cell phones per capita, watch TV for several hours a day and eat at McDonald's and other fast food chains. You can talk about riots in the US until the cows come home. They won't happen which is a good thing because it guarantees a certain level of stability.

Very funny, Jamie. I take it you mean "they're" instead of "their" ;-) Also, who are this good looking couple?
